This is a unique placement that will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in Performing Arts in a meaningful and impactful way. You will inspire a curious audience through teaching and facilitating creative and exciting projects.
Your goal for your time in Nepal is to support the students to produce a school production or play. This would include all aspects of rehearsals and backstage preparation leading up to the show itself!
The positive effects of this unique and meaningful program will be immediately evident during your stay in Nepal. Through the show you will create while you are here, you will also leave a lasting memory that will never be forgotten!
On arrival at Kathmandu’s busy international airport you will be met by a member of our local team and transferred to your accommodation. After a welcome meal and orientation, you will have time to settle in and acclimatise.
As a volunteer for the FutureSense Foundation on the Global Citizenship programme you will be working in and around the Kavre district, located on the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley. Volunteers will aim to give an invaluable creative experience by helping students put on a show or production. In order to make this programme as engaging and exciting as possible, you will have the opportunity to teach in a variety of ways including in the classroom, out in the field, one on one with students, and in group presentations or workshops. We will always encourage you to bring your own ideas to the table, and your enthusiasm and passion for Performing Arts will inspire the children you work with!
During your free time you can explore the area with its natural beauty and vibrant local culture. From the buzz of Kathmandu to the stunning scenery of the Himalayas, you won’t be short of things to do!
Today you will say your goodbyes, and transfer back to Kathmandu ready for your connecting flight back to the UK after an unforgettable three weeks.
