This is a unique placement that will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in Health in a meaningful and impactful way. You will inspire a curious audience through teaching and facilitating creative and exciting Health projects. In Peru, we work with children and their families in the Sacred Valley, around the town of Urubamba, which is about an hour’s drive from Cusco. Our main focus is on improving education for children at the local schools. We see this as they way to not only educate the next generation but through the children and by engaging their families drive change into the local communities. One of the key areas that we are seeking to address with the children and through them amongst their families is around health and nutrition.
Your goal for your time in Peru is to support the students to improve diet and nutrition and raise awareness of wider issues around hygiene and healthy lifestyles. By implementing hygiene and nutritional workshops, we would like to start the process of change in habits which will increase our overall impact in the local community. This could be running health sessions at our partner schools, during these sessions you will provide general hygiene and nutritional information to children at one of our partner schools.
