The FutureSense Foundation is an international development charity (registered charity number 1132101) committed to meeting the UN goals for sustainable development, helping disadvantaged people around the world to have a brighter future. We work hand in hand with local partners to find and implement the solutions they most need through the hard work of our volunteers. Our efforts currently focus on projects supporting communities in Peru, Romania, Tanzania, India, Nepal, Cambodia and Thailand.
Education and Child-welfare
Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all – Goal 4, Quality Education
Quality and access are at the heart of our educational work. Our focus is on improving life skills and providing children from disadvantaged backgrounds, most of whom are at a high risk of dropping out of school, with the opportunity for a better future. Quality of and access to education are the main route to a brighter future for these children, so our projects include running workshops, developing teaching resources, training the teachers, and improving the physical infrastructure of schools.
Livelihoods and income generation
Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls – Goal 5, Gender Equality End poverty in all its forms everywhere – Goal 1, No Poverty
Our work on livelihoods and income generation is focused on helping those living below the poverty line, in particular women, to develop a means of livelihood and lead a life of dignity. These programmes include providing business skills training and loans, assisting families with basic home repairs, and providing adult education.
Health and wellbeing
Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages – Goal 3, Good Health and Wellbeing
Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all – Goal 6, Clean Water and Sanitation Poor health damages livelihoods, affects child welfare and children’s ability to stay in education.
By addressing health and wellbeing issues through public health education and working directly with health care providers, we allow people to become more effective in all areas of work. We also recognise the need for access to clean water, and besides educating the community on reducing water borne disease, our projects have installed solutions from rain water harvesting to covered water storage tanks to help improve community health and hygiene.
